    The city of West Lake is uniquely situated just west of Austin, offering panoramic views of the Hill Country in one direction and the striking Austin skyline in the other.  A short and relaxing drive to the lakes, or an easy commute to Downtown, positions West Lake perfectly.  Rolling hills, elegantly designed homes with mature trees and landscaped lots; coupled with thoughtful commercial development and city ordinances that embrace the natural beauty of the landscape make West Lake one of Austin's most notable and affluent areas.

    The spectacular view from the 360 Bridge and the Austin Country Club are two points of interest.     Today the city has approximately 3,116 residents according to the 2000 Census, with about 1,000 homes and 200 businesses.  The Eanes School District is exemplary.  The median home value is comparatively higher than other Texas communities at $435,000. 

    Many of the homes throughout the area are nestled into the hillsides south of the Colorado River.  West Lake Hills both the city government and its residents are committed to preserving nature and keeping the rural setting of the community.
